3Eighteen’s £60,000 appeal

Fund the gap.

A significant exchange-rate shock in 2026 means the same work now costs more in pounds. Our Fund the Gap appeal aims to raise an additional £60,000 by the end of 2026 to help meet the higher costs of our microloan, education and discipleship work in Zambia.

Could you make a one-off gift?

Exchange-rate changes mean the same work in Zambia now costs more in pounds. Our Fund the Gap 2026 appeal aims to raise an additional £60,000 by the end of 2026 to meet those higher costs. The £60,000 is additional funding towards the wider cost of sustaining 3Eighteen’s work in Zambia this year.

Your gift will also support the local training, practical help and encouragement in faith that people receive through our programmes.

If you already give regularly, thank you. If you can make an extra gift, we would be grateful.

A short message from Chris

Chris, Chair of the Trustees, explains why we’re asking for your support.

Read the transcript

Hey, my name’s Chris. I’m the chair of 3Eighteen in the UK and I have the privilege of working closely with our team in Zambia who every day are changing lives, and we’re sending this quick message because we have an opportunity for you to stand with us and support us as we seek to raise £60,000 before the end of this year, our Fund the Gap campaign.

The reason that we’re seeking to raise this money is that the currency exchange rate has changed and it’s costing us more to support our work in Zambia. And we don’t want to have to cut back. We don’t want to have to reduce the work and the impact that we are making. So would you prayerfully consider standing with us? Thank you.

Our vision

Empowerment and discipleship.

Alongside education and support for small businesses, 3Eighteen shares the gospel with young people and adults, encouraging them to grow in faith and follow Jesus. We do this through local churches and Christian organisations in Zambia.

Our team spends time with young people and microloan groups, offering practical help and encouragement in their faith. In one project, young people meet on Fridays to pray together. It is one example of the relationships and regular encouragement behind our programmes.

Your gift helps sustain this work: helping people develop their God-given abilities and grow in faith and love for Jesus.

Grace’s story

Grace’s experience

“I thought I just needed money, but I realised knowledge was just as important.”Grace, microloan programme participant

Grace · Kabwe North, Zambia

Grace was unsure about taking her first loan. Through 3Eighteen’s business training, she learned to budget, reinvest and plan. When the loan arrived, she and her group bought and sold fish together.

They repaid their first loan, then later repaid a second. Grace used her profits to open a small shop selling household goods. She describes herself as “a proud business lady who is able to stand alone.”

When loans are repaid, the money can be lent to other groups. Training and support continue as people develop their businesses.
